Ski weather at last?
Mar. 3rd, 2007 11:35 amIt's a bit on the windy side, but I have only been skiing once this winter and probably won't stay out longer than 45 minutes anyway. I'll probably just hit the Hiawatha Golf Course today and see how it goes. Maybe someplace a little more scenic tomorrow.
The annoyance with skiing in the metro the last few years is the non-overlapping ski passes. Minneapolis requires you to buy a $10 season pass to ski in their parks. The county park system requires a DIFFERENT ski pass. State parks of course require a completely different season pass. Day passes are prohibitively expensive. But so is buying a season pass to ski just once. So do you just pick one place and always go there, or buy multiple season passes? Highly annoying.
Good old Como Park, however, is FREE. Crowded, but free.
If anybody reading this is interested in a little lightweight cross-country skiing, let me know. I have my own skis, but many of the local ski venues have rentals. And, of course, snowshoers make excellent companions for skiers.
