I suppose it was just a matter of time - today my Sunday paper was all ads and no paper! Yes, I searched three times through all the Classified sections, sifted through the piles of advertising inserts, and all I found was more ads. And the Sports section, which nobody in our house reads. I was just about to call the Circulation Desk and demand a new paper when something occurred to me. It's not hard to imagine a screwup during the newspaper assembly process resulting in double ads and no paper - but why was the Sports section spared? It's almost like somebody knew there was a household where Sports is regarded as part of the instant-discard pile. Hey! Isn't it April Fool's Day? Isn't that one of the Four Major Holidays celebrated at our house?

Then, and only then, I remembered seeing what I took to be a pile of old newspapers in an unexpected place this morning as I was looking for clean socks. Hmmm. Sure enough, that pile in the closet of Amber's Room was the rest of the paper. Congratulations,
