City of Heroes

I got Richard a copy of City of Heroes for Father's Day. He really loves Champions, the super-hero role-playing game, so I thought this might be enough to entice him into learning how to use the computer. It's a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) where you create your own superhero, run through a little training mission, join a team and start clobbering villains in Paragon City. So far, we've eached created a character or two and started through the tutorial. Richard was actually doing quite well controlling Heatdeath, but was discouraged because he kept getting killed by minor thugs with knives. Heck, I've been playing 1st-person shooters for years, and I get killed all the time! I hope he doesn't give up; I think he'll like this game.
