Last weekend
Jun. 29th, 2005 02:01 pmHit some yard sales in the morning, managing to rack up almost 9 miles on my bike (at a mind-boggling average speed of 6.5 mph). Found a big off-white linen shirt for $2, 4 nice-looking pillow cases for $1, a black windbreaker for Amber ($.10) and 8 little glass tumblers to restock our depleted cupboard ($.40 for the lot).
Best kind of Minnstf meeting at the Courts; mixture of Minnstf regulars and assorted friends of the family. Surprising amount of sustaining food, including some particularly good burgers on the grill (I understand a lot of garlic was involved). Happy birthday, mplscorwin!
Amber's boyfriend arrived from California sometime after midnight and seemed to be enjoying the party. Considering it was his first time meeting Amber's friends and family he seemed to take it all in stride remarkably well.
Sunday I didn't do much that I recall except a quick ride around Lake Harriet, stopping to listen to a folk-singer or two at the bandshell. Some guy named Dave and one of his daughters, both of whom have lovely voices.
