Now would be a good time....
Jan. 18th, 2007 09:18 pm... to write to your elected representatives and express your viewpoint on the president's plan to escalate the war. I actually did this over the weekend as I was working on my backlog of "things I've been meaning to do." It probably doesn't matter all that much if you write to Ellison and Klobuchar expressing anti-war sentiments, as they pretty much ran on an anti-war platform. I'm sure they appreciate the moral support from their constituencies, but I think they've made up their minds where they stand. Senator Norm Coleman, on the other hand, has never had a problem doing what the Strib recently referred to as "exercising his trademark political flexibility." The man will do absolutely anything to get votes. When it seemed to be in his best interests to be Bush's biggest supporter, he was (voting "with the president" 98% of the time). Now that's looking like political suicide, and he's suddenly rethinking his entire position on the war. I'm thinking that it's a good time for him to hear from his anti-war constituents, loud and clear.
