The Hulk, ordered as part of Richard's preparation for the Comics in Movies panel at Minicon. Eh. The credits were dynamite. And the first half was sort of fun, pioneering a weird sub-genre of suspense thriller where you find yourself staring raptly at swarming microbes, watching them develop a faint greenish cast and start pulsing in time to the increasingly frenetic music, then ...subside back to normal. The same thing happens to Bruce Banner's irises occasionally (which is kind of cool) and to his face (much less cool). But once Bruce finally hulks out, the movie falls apart in a hurry. The CGI is so shockingly bad you find yourself staring at it like it was a traffic accident. Man, somebody got ripped off bigtime by their special effects studio! The story was pretty silly to start with, but quickly becomes incoherent, and after that you're just marking time until it's over. No point in watching the "How We Made It" extras, cause you really don't care.

Minority Report. I've seen it; I guess Thorin put it on the queue. I enjoyed it in the theatre, but realized afterwards that there was a Mack-truck-sized hole in the plot that simply could not be reconciled no matter how you rationalized it, so I don't think I'd enjoy watching it again.

Upstairs, Downstairs: Season 1, Disc 1. I think the absolutely best thing we've gotten out of Netflix is the ability to watch all the good TV we missed out on over the last 20 or 30 years. Watched the first two episodes last night, and I feel myself being slowly suuuuucked in... I think I'll go watch another one right now.
