There's no cleaner feeling than just after taking a long, hot shower when you're really really dirty. And it's hard to get dirtier than the dirty you get cleaning a garage. Man. I think this is the third weekend on this project. It's nowhere near done, but it's starting to look like a garage again instead of an overstuffed storage locker belonging to someone that's batshit crazy. In retrospect, I wish I'd taken some pictures before I started. I think I didn't because it would have been too discouraging. Let's just say that every week for at least the past three weeks I've filled a full-size metal garbage can to the brim with disgusting refuse for the city to haul away. In addition, we've been taking full advantage of Minneapolis' exceptionally liberal haulaway policy by adding a couple of ridiculous items like old van seats and rusted old table saws.

Of course, it also helps that we apparently have some dedicated trash pickers working our alley who will cart away any metallic refuse. I think that's actually what happened to the table saw, which disappeared three days before garbage day. That's great - because I think we have the bones of an entire swingset in the attic of the garage.
