Lena the Activist revisited
Mar. 26th, 2018 08:41 pm About a year ago, I posted a link to an adorable video of 2-year-old Lena after her first political rally trying (not very successfully) to chant, "This is what democracy looks like!" Yesterday she accompanied her mother to another rally where she was reportedly LEADING the call and response for the same phrase! Amber says she was clear enough and loud enough that people were taking up the chant.
...until she got so into her role that she decided to improvise with a hilarious 3-year-old joke, where she replaces a key word in a well-known phrase with a random noun. "Show us what your HEAD looks like!" just confused the crowd and she lost her following. Fortunately she has not yet reached the stage of humor where the random noun replacement is something like "butt" instead of "head."
Unfortunately we don't have video, just her mommy's word. But here's a link to a completely unrelated video of Lena blowing bubbles in the bathtub which makes it clear that her diction is a lot clearer now than it was a year ago.
