Richard and I made our usual Thanksgiving pilgrimage to Oregon. Among other exciting happenings, Lena got a new bed! She had been sleeping on the inflatable guest mattress in her room because she had developed a dislike
of her old crib-turned-toddler bed. So the baby bed was moved to the garage and the inflatable mattress replaced with an Ikea daybed (hand me down from friends) outfitted with a new mattress. Lena tested the new bed by jumping on it for a while before consenting to pose for a picture with Gramma. She's pretty excited.

... and so does Gramma. So we combined the trip to the mattress store with
a stop at a marvelous place that sells used Legos by the quart. We picked
out half a dozen mix and match Lego people, and then Gramma spent a lot of
time searching through the bins for matching sets of wheels and axels. When
we got home, we made little cars and trucks and Lena played with them.

I made the little utility vehicle in the front with the ladder. Richard made the big one with the hatch door. He thought it was a hazardous waste disposal truck, but Lena decided it was an RV. The little people took naps in the van, then woke up and decided to go swimming. But they couldn't get over the edge of the big pool. Oh no! Fortunately they had a truck with a ladder handy!
