OMG, March!

March is the most heartbreaking month of the year in
Minnesota. February I can deal with. Even Februaries with five feet of snow (I grew up in Maine and upstate New York, and that's what winter looks like to me). But March is supposed to be spring, not rotting snowbanks and iced over lakes. I can't say that the pictures below exactly represent my ideal of springtime, but 2012 looks pretty good right about now.
ETA: The pictures below are actually from March 17, the day before the ice went out. I found some additional pictures from March 18 that look pretty much like the ones below except all that flimsy ice in the background had disappeared overnight.
