Newborns make noise, but don't shed tears. These babies are now big enough to turn on the waterworks along with the indignant howls, which is a step forward I guess. This is Leo, who is still the one who expresses himself the most forcefully. But Harris probably fusses more these days. And both of them have gotten fussier as they approached their 3-month birthday (which is fairly typical). They used to cry mostly when they were hungry - now they seem to have a variety of complaints, with "I'm BORED!!" moving up in the rankings. About every 20 minutes you have to rotate them from one baby station to another (baby seat, swing, tummy time, back time, cuddling, sitting up, etc.)

At almost 3 months, twins are finally starting to appreciate crib toys. Amber scored this beautiful high-tech music-playing, light-show-projecting mobile for free on a giveaway site, and the babies love it! True love at this age means that it keeps them entranced for a full 20 minutes at a time, but it adds one more station to the baby entertainment train.

The good old Happy Apple is in the rotation now too. Both of them like it, but the way they play with it reflects their personalities. Harris quickly formed a relationship with the face, and is patiently working on reaching out to it. Leo, on the other hand, prefers to pump his legs and arms wildly, causing the apple to ding-dong merrily.
