One of my big projects on this trip was to help set up the house again after the big expansion project (which finished up just days before we arrived). There was only a small change to this basement room, but it was a transformative one. The access door that made this into a more or less legal bedroom had to be removed, so the builder replaced it with the big, beautiful access window visible behind Leo in the picture below. This not only changed the whole aspect of the room because of the light, it added a wide window ledge that even toddlers could climb up on. I suggested turning the room into a large-muscle playroom that I dubbed "The Running and Screaming Room."

Leo is playing quietly in this one, but look how he is holding onto the chair! Note that this is the same baby that used to hold his bottle with his feet.

As part of the Running and Screaming decor, we moved the little slide and trampoline in from outdoors, which was a huge hit. This is Harris (not the athletic one of the twins). Just 2 weeks ago he flunked the 2-year-old milestone of "jumping with both feet off the ground." But looks like he can do it after all when sufficiently motivated.

This is Lena working on her photo-bombing technique. It is much more impressive if you can see the iPhone live photo feature, but still cute.

Toddlers just love being upside down.

And here we are back in the Running and Screaming Room after Daddy moved in an extra mattress. Lena and Leo spent literally hours shoving each other off the window ledge into a mattress pratfall (because that's how they roll). But I think Lena achieved this impressive amount of air by jumping off one of the higher ledges.
