I tend to agree about Toy Story 3. What amazed me is that it's plot and character driven. Not very funny at all; indeed, rather dark. But yes, it works and works well
I saw TS and TS2 in their 3D rerelease within the last year. Both are good, though I'd still give a nod to the first. I don't think anyone should see the third without seeing at least the first one, but it's clearly the tightest scripted and most lovingly animated.
