Followup to last week's Lena Report, this time in living color. Now she's standing unsupported for up to 15 seconds.

But mostly she is doing this. It looks like a new yoga move, but she is actually trying to stand up without holding onto anything. Originally she would get into this position and bounce, clearly trying to stand. But now she is so pleased with this new posture that she just pops upright and sits there for a while, or flings her arms up into the air in that classic Olympic Moment gesture of triumph. I've never seen a pre-walking baby do anything like this. She's such an athlete.

In the long run, of course, they all learn to walk eventually and it doesn't really matter exactly how or when. But the truly great thing is the look of joy on her baby face when she masters a new accomplishment, no matter how cryptic the accomplishment may be. I hope she keeps that ability to set her own goals and delight in achieving them.
