Saw "The Shape of Water" *ick*

 If you loved "Pan's Labyrinth" but thought it would have been better with a little tentacle porn and a side order of gangrene, you'll love "The Shape of Water." Just don't go see it thinking it is a touching love story or an important Statement Movie, because it is neither.  As in "Pan," there is plenty of torture, senseless bloodbaths, and human villains that make literal representations of the devil seem benign by comparison. There are some striking images, not all of them horrific, and some interesting musical choices. And that's about the best I can say for it.
