Well, now that I've installed OldNewExplorer I can't see the old format any more, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't letting me do what I wanted to do. I don't just want to see a list of folders in the left-hand pane with the content of the selected folder on the right. I want to be able to expand folders into subtrees (in the left pane) down to whatever level I desire, and do it in more than one part of the tree at the same time.
