Maybe the world isn't ending after all

dreamsharkStarting to feel more confident about Trump's impending loss, which is all that matters at the moment. I'm not exactly happy about how the whole election turned out, but if that monster can be removed from office maybe the nation can start to heal.
Of course, the world is ending in other ways out there. The fall COVID resurgence has been so sudden and so massive - I really wasn't expecting that. I've been mostly huddled in my house for the last 8 months. WTF is the rest of the world doing out there? And how is it so invisible? The virus is now spreading in Minnesota at almost the rates it was hitting in NYC back in March, when people were dying in the streets. And it's two to three times worse in every one of our neighboring states. How can there be anyone left alive in North Dakota?? Surely they will hit full herd immunity soon if this keeps up. And yet... the people that live there insist that nothing much is happening and nobody is really getting sick (well, except for that DEAD GUY they just elected).
While I crouch over my computer waiting for more election news I am gradually cleaning off my old Windows 7 laptop for Richard to use now that his iPad has gone belly up. That is turning out to be quite a tedious project, but it gives me something to make progress on. What I should be doing is cancelling/postponing the airline reservations I made in a moment of hopefulness for Amber and family to come out here for Christmas. But that takes too much nonstop concentration.
I really should tear myself away from my office and go biking again. We're now halfway through the meager week of Indian Summer, and I've really not had the energy to take advantage of it. I guess I'll be all right if i don't get close to anybody.
