Two shoutouts to Lyda!!
The first is the entry where she shows off an impressive tie-dye project.
I was impressed with how vivid the colors were, so I ordered the same kit that she used so Richard and Lena could tie-dye his boring compression stockings. They came out great! Unfortunately because he usually wears long pants nobody has seen them until now. On our camping trip last weekend he actually put on SHORTS. The effect is blinding.
Number two is this post about the State Park Passports. I picked up my own at St. Croix Park and got my first stamp! I love this shit. Now I'm fired up for State Parks. Gotta catch 'em all! I'm now reviewing Lyda's State Park entries from earlier.
Everybody else - tell me about your favorite State Parks!

My favorite State Park is Temperance River State Park. Some of the campsites are right next to the lake.

Oh, and all the people (possibly including you) who warned me that not all the Minnesota Park cabins are as nice as the ones at St. Croix were absolutely correct. The MN State Park cabins have the most ragbag collection of random features that you can imagine. The only ones that are predictable are the ones labeled "camper cabins," all of which have rather odd looking bunk beds and none of which have indoor plumbing. Beyond that, you have to look at each cabin or "guest house" individually to figure out what features it has. Some have heat and electricity but no plumbing. One has a non-working "decorative" fireplace. Another has a kitchen that you are not allowed to cook in. And one has heat, A/C, a working fireplace, cable TV, and wireless service.
Besides St. Croix, the only park I could find that has 2-person cabins with plumbing is Itasca (which has pretty much everything). Disappointing.

In remote settings, Plumbing is incredibly expensive to install and maintain, and I understand why they chose to not normally include it. I feel like the mission of the parks is preserving nature, and camping one of the ways they fund it.
If you know that you always want indoor plumbing - There are some great cabins available all over the state, many right up against or surrounded by state park or national park land.
