They do have a tipover switch (which took me a while to figure out. They are so little that I kept picking them up to set the controls, which causes them to turn off immediately). They also have a fan-only setting, which makes them useful year round, and a relatively long cord. I liked them so well that I ordered 3 from Amazon after discovering they were marked down from a perfectly reasonable $30 to $17.
Then I read the reviews and discovered a lot of complaints about their durability, specifically the tipover switch failing. But if this is the brand that Midlands has decided to buy in bulk to hand out as loaners they must not be too fragile. Time will tell, I guess.
