While doing it in the middle of a blizzard is ridiculous and massively inconsiderate, winter pruning is actually a thing. Both Rainbow Tree Service and A Tree Services strongly prefer to prune trees in the winter. The latter came out to deal with a bunch of our unruly trees a few years ago, during a warm spell (for winter), and when I went out to talk to them, the guy in charge said gloatingly, "I love this weather."

It's a pity there was no way to tow the entire tree-trimming apparatus. I mean really.
