Anyone for tubing?

This weekend is supposed to be sizzling hot. Perfect for floating downstream with your butt in cold water and a styrofoam cooler full of refreshment floating along behind you. Anybody interested, even a little? What else can you do when it's so hot?

huh - where does one do such a thing in these parts?

(last time I did this was on the Castleman River in southern Pennsylvania, and that was, oh, 1977 maybe? And we were in canoes. Water was shallow but cold. Beer was cold, too, because we towed it behind us in a net.)

The other option is the http://www.welchmillcanoeandtube.com/in southern Minnesota. I've been tubing on both, but it's been a long time. The Apple River is decidedly rowdier, both the river rapids and the patrons. The Cannon River is cheaper (or was at the time), a bit closer (probably still is) and shadier.
