I very much want to see "Amnesiac Jack" at the Mixed Blood, 7pm. I'll probably leave directly from work, since Richard is gaming tonight, but there's a lot of rush hour traffic between Eden Prairie and the West Bank...

After that, probably "Google, the Musical" and "Past the Size of Dreaming," both at the Rarig. Unless somebody has a better suggestion. So, if you're on the West Bank tonight, watch for me!

Last night was just one play, The Balcony Scene (by Basement Productions) at Bryant Lake. I gave it 3.5 stars. It was well-produced and well-acted, but the writing was kind of unimaginative. I'm pretty sure that the playwright didn't realize how thoroughly obnoxious the heroine really was, if you ignore the fact the fact that she was cute and flirtatious and played by an appealing little actress. If you just paid attention to how she behaved, she was actually not much different from her manipulative pseudo-stalker ex-boyfriend, who was presumably the villain of the piece. This is a problem I often have with movies: I find the female romantic lead significantly less adorable than the writer/director thinks she is. Other than that, it's a perfectly good little play, so YMMV.

I'm seeing Toward Canterbury at 7:00, then Dancing Rats and Vampire Moms at 10:00.

I haven't seen the Balcony Scenes yet, but I also find it annoying when female chars are bitchy and manipulative -- but it's ok because they're cute, and that's what women do. Meh.
