My weekend meanders on
Aug. 27th, 2006 05:07 pmGreatly enjoyed the Tiki BBQ. I got there early and grabbed one of the two available stools at the Tiki Bar, where I downed Potted Parrots and chatted up the bartender. The grill was outstanding, featuring various types of meat marinated in secret south pacific sauces. Spent a lot of time trading religious jokes and life stories with
huladavid, who is a highly entertaining fellow. Richard stayed only an hour or so, then zipped off with the car to
skylarker's filk sing. I stayed until 11, and then walked home. Richard and I then investigated a strange Netflix that had arrived at our house - "The Upright Citizen's Brigade." Watched two episodes and decided it wasn't quite to our liking.
Today I am pretty much spending the day setting up my new Palm. Most of my major 3rd-party software still works on the new PalmOS, but most of the games and hacks don't. So I'm downloading new software, figuring out how to download pictures, and that sort of thing. There is an SD memory card slot on this device, mostly for pictures and sound files I think, but it didn't come with an SD card. I had an old 16M SD card that came with a camera, so I stuck that in to experiment with. You can actually get quite a few JPGs on it, if they're small. And with a 320x320 screen, they don't have to be big.
