Ski trip: lessons learned

dreamshark(1) If you exit the golf course by means of Minnehaha Creek, that's the way you should come back, even if it means inching under a wide bridge in a deep crouch. The alternative is worse, especially when every road and path is bordered by by 4-foot walls of snow.
(2) Don't take off your skis when you are standing on top of 2 feet of soft snow.
(3) Don't try breaking trail in trail skis with those goldern new-fangled snap-toe bindings. The bindings get all clogged with ice and wont hold on any more, and you may end up skiing home with one ski not actually attached to your ski boot.
Other than that, beautiful weather, lots of exercise, generally had fun. There were other skiers out of course, but way fewer than I would've expected after the first real snow of the winter. I'm not sure if the park building was open or not. Since they hadn't seen fit to groom the trails, I saw no reason to look for some place to buy a ski pass.
