It's not too late...
Apr. 2nd, 2007 05:05 pmI hate hate hate making hotel reservations. Something always goes wrong when I use the online systems, and if you call on the phone you usually get put on hold by somebody in India. Thus, I typically put it off until it appears to be too late.
But, you'll all be happy to hear, it isn't really too late to make hotel reservations for Minicon, and even get the con rate of $85. It took me two tries. (I'm not kidding about online systems failing me with dismal consistency.) I trekked through all the screens, entered all my info, hit the final button and.... after about 5 minutes my request timed out with a cheery little "try again later!" message. Grrrr. So I started over from the beginning and the second time it worked. (I just hope I didn't end up with two rooms reserved.)
I reserved 3 nights: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. How's about the rest of you? Got your room reservations? When are you checking in?

Date: 2007-04-03 12:01 am (UTC)Get a party room, or get a cabana room.
The reservations are handled by the Sheraton Bloomington itself, so it's just a pleasant in-house gal that takes care of it. Ten bucks more (I think), no calls to out of state prisoners learning important telephone job skills and credit card numbers, and no out of country calls where they just don't care about your stupid skiffy room.
This actually has nothing to do with why I got a party room, but it was a REALLY swell bonus.
Yay! More parties!
Date: 2007-04-03 04:03 am (UTC)Where's your party gonna be? Does it have a theme? Give me the hours and a party description and I'll rough it into the Bozo Bus Tribune template right now!
Maybe you should make it a CD Exchange party?

The MISFITS party will be open 8PM to Midnight, and we will be celebrating torrids and spheres. Spagettios will be served.

And doesn't Spaghettios have an h in it?
