Golden Dragons and Other Natural Phenomena

Seen from the bike path this morning:

- Two bright yellow goldfinches fighting in the air in a furious twirling upward spiral like little golden dragons.

- Something that looked like a mongoose wearing a mink coat scampering across the trail about 2 feet from my front wheel. That doesn't make much sense, though. More likely it was an actual mink.

Too small. It was about the size of a squirrel, but thinner and with a less bushy tail. Fishers are quite a bit bigger.

It was a mink. Why does everybody have so much trouble with that? Minks live all over Minnesota.

OK. Somehow I think of them as living more in the north country, nowhere the cities.

Well, yeah, I thought more or less the same thing until I looked it up online. Then my newfound knowledge became so much a part of my consciousness that it's like I always knew that. The Internet Age is like candy for congenital know-it-alls like me. ;-)

Heh. But so handy: for instance, neither of my music dictionaries will define for me what it means to do a 'Sus 4' version of a chord, but I happily look forward to finding that info on the net...
