Once I went down the comics-sorting rabbit hole I pretty much stopped doing everything else, including reading/posting to LJ. Partly because I was becoming such a comics-geek bore that it seemed like it would be counter-productive to keep posting. Well, I'm happy to report that I managed to unearth all of Richard's 70+ boxes of comics (I think) and make at least one pass through them. In the process, I managed to generate:

  • the biggest spreadsheet I have ever seen (19M last time I looked)

  • a sprawling comics website

  • about $2,100 (less the $527 spent on bags and boards and boxes and grading books)

It's been fun. Now I have something else to do, so I'm tapering off. Still hope to keep improving the comics site and maybe make some sales there. And I'm thinking about taking a table at the spring comics convention.

I enjoyed seeing the Bondage subset of comic covers at the post-Thanksgiving dinner. Have you had a chance to read any of the related stories as you go along?

Read the stories? Why would I want to do that? :-)

Every now and then I get sucked in by a cover (usually it's something like - "Supergirl stubs her toe and DESTROYS THE BOTTLED CITY OF KANDOR!"), but I'm always disappointed. (She didn't really; Kandor is just fine, in case you're worried. But that doesn't mean Supergirl isn't kind of a klutz. She always was.)
