It is happening again...
Sep. 27th, 2007 09:15 pmI posted this last night, but friends-locked it because the news wasn't official yet and it could have been looked at as company confidential. No longer so. So I'm unlocking it.
So, late this afternoon somebody noticed that one of the development managers had, without a word to any of his people, cleaned out his office, marked his name off the office map posted by the lunchroom, and disappeared. Word spread that at least one guy from marketing wasn't coming back either. This is widely believed to be the tip of an iceberg that was previously unknown. Or, at least not confirmed. There have been rumors.
I'm getting so tired of this job cycle. I like this place. I like the people a lot, I enjoy my job and I'm good at it, and they pay me pretty well. But things aren't looking good for the future. On the plus side, we (the corporate we, not the family we) are relocating to Hell-n-Gone (i.e. Shakopee) in 2 weeks. If it all goes down the tubes in the next year, I can look for work back on the civilized side of the river.
Oh, well, we'll see what tomorrow brings.
Bonus points for anybody who can identify the TV show from which my title is taken.
