LJ Spam Attack
Oct. 7th, 2007 10:17 amYesterday I made a boring and inoccuous post that attracted the following spam posting from a "user" called blog_ubscribe. I immediately deleted it, checking the boxes for ban-this-user and flag-as-spam.
Subject: New LJ catalog
We are filling Internet journals catalog and have added a link to your journal there. View the link here:
http://blog.ubscribe.com/show.php?flet=d&page=2#dreamshark In order to confirm the listing please place a link to our catalog in your journal or add this user to your friends list. Leave as is if not interested and we'll remove the listing.
Today they were back again, using a different username: "journalcatalog."
One more and I'll file an abuse report.
Has anybody else seen this?

Date: 2007-10-07 03:28 pm (UTC)I did visit the URL and as far as I can tell all they're trying to do is sell domain names. To which I say, "Whatever."

Hi, by the way. I'm Patty, and I found you in circuitous fashion through your Dreamshark page, and via that through the webpage for Minicon. I may or may not be a stalker, but I *am* a fellow F/SF and comics.
