Spent the last two days tearing down my lab, utterly exhausting mentally and physically. Everything in the racks was labeled with its final destination, all the cables, power cords and assorted paraphernalia stored in the clever blue plastic moving crates. Today the trucks are loading. All my stuff is gone! But my truck hasn't left yet, so there is no point heading out for Shakopee just yet. I think I'll wait another hour so I can get in on the goodbye barbeque here in Eden Prairie.

I hate tearing down. Hate the chaos and noise and people bumping into each other. I kind of like setting back up again, though. I like bringing order out of chaos. I'm now climbing the walls waiting for the chance to start that process. In the meantime I'm trying to find piles of snarled cables that I can sort and pack away neatly as other people tear down. Sorting is soothing. Also, it's something you can do sitting down.

Wish I'd brought my camera. I think I'll take a picture of my old lab on my phone.
