There's always computer games
Oct. 13th, 2007 10:52 pmThis young guy at work gave me a copy of Fallout 2, a classic RPG from 1998. Since I didn't have the energy to get up from the computer, I installed it. Went out and found the final patch and installed that. Realized that it's one of those games that cannot be played without the 40-page manual. Discovered that the manual is on the installation disk in PDF. If I hadn't played Morrowind I'd probably give up at this point (I HATE reading PDF files!), but having played one RPG I figure it can't be too hard to figure out another one. We'll see how far I get.
The tricky part is figuring out what kind of character to create without really knowing what the game is like. I started out with pretty much the character I played in Morrowind (female thief type), but once I get a feel for the game I may go back and start it again with a character that is more entertaining - maybe an Ubergeek with science and gadget skills, no charisma, and a good luck/bad luck skillset. *heh*
Well, back to the manual.
