dreamsharkIt started about 9:00 am. It doesn't look like much as it falls, but an hour later there's already enough to cover the flat areas completely. It will take a little longer to cover the grass with a white blanket, but it shouldnt be long. I'm watching it fall wilth my usual mixture of exhilaration and anxiety. I SO hope it doesn't turn into freezing rain later! It's so cold now I don't see how that is possible, but it's listed as a possibility in my favorite online weather sites. That would be such a bummer. Best outcome in my book: 6 inches of soft whiteness, temps about 20, and volunteer ski tracks all over the Hiawatha Golf Course by tomorrow afternoon. Please, weather deities, no crust of ice over the top! That would be so mean!
In anticipation, I dug out my winter boots, mushed out to the garage and retrieved my skis and ski boots. The new pair of skis, anyway. Maybe I should go get the old wider ones too, just in case somebody doesn't make a nice trail for me. I dug the snow shovels out of the back of the garage attic, but haven't brought them into the porch yet. I gathered up all the rainjackets and windbreakers from the living room and put them in the wardrobe on the porch so there would be room to hang my heavy winter coats in the teensy living room closet. Then I did that. Holy cow, winter coats sure do take up a lot of room!!
Now, before it's too late, I'm going to hop in the car and go to the gym for a swim. It sounds like we'll all be pretty much snowed in this afternoon. Good luck with that Minnstf meeting,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Y'know, I seem to dimly remember Richard telling me when he came to bed just before dawn that our van is stuck somewhere with a flat tire. Hmmm. Maybe somebody should have dealt with that when it happened instead of abandoning the vehicle to be buried in a snowdrift. Good luck with that,thorintatge and Richard NOLJ. I'll do my part by bringing in the shovels from the garage before I go swimming.
