They're declaring a snow emergency starting 9pm tonight. The only surprise is that they didn't do it last night, for reasons that passeth understanding. The snow stopped about 6pm, after all.

Anyway, no parking on Snow Emergency Routes from 9pm tonight to 8am tomorrow. Tomorrow, no parking on even sides of the street. Next day, no parking on the odd sides. Then you can park anywhere until the next Snow Emergency. Mpls no longer goes to one-sided parking automatically after the first Snow Emergency.

Okay, I'm going to get my ass in gear and see if anybody has made ski trails yet on the Hiawatha Golf Course.

I dunno but maybe it's like shoveling they wait till the snow stops after which you have 24 hours before they enforce getting the walk cleared.

No, the only reason they usually wait is if enough snow is expected the next day that they would just have to plow again. I think whoever made the decision was working with a day-old weather forecast.

Ya I dunno I was kind of surprised they called one. Maybe the amount of snowfall was on te border of when they do ir don't call and emergency.

Personally I think it should be renamed I mean is it *really* an emergency? It's kind of funny at least to me to think about.
