Follow this link to see Minnesota slither its way into Hardiness Zone 5. The Twin Cities used to be on the boundary between 3 (really cold) and 4 (not quite so cold). Now we're on the boundary between 4 and 5.

I suppose this is pretty nice if you're a gardener.

It's actually kind of alarming. I mean, new plants are all very well, and certainly I have suffered many things for love, very like this, when browsing through catalogs in which everything I fall for says "Zone 5" in the fine print. But warmer weather and more plants just bring more pests with them.

I've got to say, this particular winter doesn't seem to be shaping up to be any Zone 5 winter.
