The lunar eclipse has reached the full, the sky is clear, and it's right outside your door!! It's really cool - the moon is all blood red. Well, okay, more like strawberry blonde. Not your normal moon color, anyway.

Thanks for the reminder; we've just been out doing errands, and hadn't noticed (though I've read for several days that this was coming, and admired the NASA graphic with all the times and what they mean and such).

I haven't figured out what's worth photographing with an eclipse. The coolest thing I've seen lately is a time exposure that ends up showing the size and color change as the moon moves across the sky (shot last year).

Why not just take a good picture of the red-orange moon with a little rind of gold on the side? It's very striking.

Hasn't it been gorgeous? I kept going out in my bathrobe and boots to admire it. Which was really silly, considering it was -6 degrees F.
