First bike ride of spring!
Mar. 13th, 2008 04:04 pmIt's 50 degrees and sunny today, so I pulled my extra bike off the bike locker wall, pumped up the tires and took her for a spin. My goodness, but she pedaled easy! I kept shifting up and shifting up, and was still just flying along. Heavens but I'm strong, I thought.
Then I turned around and pedaled back INTO the wind. Oh.
Still, it felt great to be out in the sunshine, despite the wind and the great puddles of water. I followed the rats' nest of local bike paths into the nearby townhouse cul-de-sacs. Had a little trouble finding the bike path on the way back (all the cul-de-sacs look alike), but eventually made it back, refreshed but distinctly windburned. Very grateful to have the nice locker room to shower in.
