Mission accomplished

I've been wanting a new fleece vest to wear to the skating rink. My beloved old forest green vest is still wearable but getting kind of pilled and nasty looking. I also needed some exercise, so I bundled up and biked over to Midwest Mountaineering on the West Bank. As luck would have it, they were having a huge sale this weekend. Not huge in the sense of huge discounts (unfortunately) but in the sense that half of the population of the metro was in there shopping. Eek. It was just 10-15% off winter merchandise, which hardly seems worth all the excitement. But I did manage to find a nice black fleece Patagonia vest with big pockets, and while I was at it a rain hat (something I've needed for a long time), also in black. It was getting colder on the way home, but fortunately I had a nice fleece vest to put on. It seemed like a much longer trip than last year, when I was used to riding 12 miles. I'm very tired.
