So, I was eating fresh strawberries and dropped a few drops of juice on my white cotton shirt, leaving bright red stains. Oh no!
So I took off the shirt and sprayed the stains with Oxy-Clean, intending to rinse the stains out in a few minutes. The Oxy-Clean foamed up and the stains DISAPPEARED IN FRONT OF MY EYES. I never rinsed them out. I looked at the shirt this morning in the light of day and can't even see where the stains were. Is this even possible???

And now that the shirt looks perfectly clean - can I just wear it again or should I wash it?

I'd wash it, but OxyClean is definitely the shit. It does amazing things with whites and colors alike.

I've seen the ads and wondered if it really works. I need this stuff! Pretty much every time I eat, something winds up spilled on my bosom-shelf.

Oxyclean works pretty well on food stains, but usually you have to wash the stain out after you spray it. I've never seen a stain just magically disappear before.

I wonder what would happen if I sprayed it on a whole strawberry. Would it vaporize the whole thing?

I'm guessing that the active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide. This is also the active ingredient in most "color-safe bleach." Here are my musings on the subject, in case you're interested.

You're probably right about the hydrogen peroxide. That would make sense. In that case the strawberry juice is still there, it's just been bleached to WHITE strawberry juice.
