Comics dealer coming up for hair
Oct. 22nd, 2003 01:48 pmI have done almost nothing for the last... oh, two weeks (?) but research comic dealing. Somehow this has turned into way more than a fulltime job already and I not only haven't made a cent, I'm down $134 (for the comics bags, Overstreet Price Guide, Overstreet Grading Guide, etc.). I'm beginning to understand why so many people think about selling their comics and then never get around to it. *yeesh*
However, today I posted my first comics auction on Ebay! Based on my extensive research (looking at other people's completed auctions) I realize that there is a good chance that it will run the whole 10 days and not get a single bid, but at least it's out there. After weeks of perusing listings for superhero comics, dinosaur and gorilla theme covers, and Archie comics, I finally took the plunge with: Firehair, White Daughter of the Sioux #8. Why? Mostly because it's not a very valuable comic, nobody in the house loves it, and it's gotten separated from the other Westerns, making it a natural target for elimination. I didn't want to risk screwing up the Ebay listing with something I care about, y'see.
If anybody reading this has any experience with selling things on Ebay, or even buying things on Ebay, I would really really appreciate it if you would look at my listing and give me feedback. Is it a good listing? Inviting? Easy to respond to? Any suggestions for improving my format?
And, of course, feel free to bid if you have a soft spot for pseudo-feminist westerns with politically incorrect references to "Redskins" on the cover...
