For what seems like the first time in a zillion years, there were no fabulous parties/conventions/celebrations going on this weekend. I had great plans for Getting Things Done around the house, but pretty much shot my wad with too much biking around in the sun in the morning. It didn't seem like much -- just an hour or two of yard salin'' -- but it wore me out. I found a very nice straw sunhat with a huge sunshade brim and a bow on the back, and a $.50 necklace with 7 big chunks of real amber in it (strung on a cheap necklace with some seriously ugly plastic beads!). I ran into [livejournal.com profile] minnehahaB in the Anodyne cafe, which was a delightful surprise.

I had to lie around in the AC for a few hours after I came back, but finally recovered enough to do a little bit of this and that. [livejournal.com profile] minnehahaK's brother Ed built us some spiffy new doors for our playhouse last week, and we decided to follow that up by painting some of the trim. I managed to muster up the energy to slap on a coat of primer, and did a little bit of cleanup in the garage along the way. Then I swallowed large quantities of ibuprofen and collapsed. Had just enough energy left to watch one ep of Veronica Mars with Richard before passing out.

... or, as [livejournal.com profile] barondave puts it, choreography. Using the online scheduling tool on the Fringe website I have come up with a rough draft of our plans for Aug 2-13. If anybody wants to take a look, email me and I'll give you my password.

Right now, when I logon and look at my schedule this little comment pops up at the top: "OMG! You're seeing 38 shows!" Cute. Not really that bad, though. It's more a list of possibilities than a true schedule, and the shows I most want to see show up 2 or 3 times. Briefly, the plan is like this:

Thursday (Aug2) : drop in to [livejournal.com profile] mmagidow's gallery opening and then see one show in the Northeast area (actually, I'm leaning towards this one, which is technically Southeast, but close to the gallery).

Friday (Aug3): 3 shows in the Uptown area. Last year I did Friday on my own or with friends, but this year Richard is planning to skip out on his own game party to join me.

Saturday (Aug4): Downtown and West Bank.

Sunday (Aug5): Mostly West Bank, but hoping to tack on the 10pm showing of John and Abigail at Bryant-Lake Bowl.

Monday evening is reserved for just one thing: Macbeth's Awesome Scottish Castle Party. This is clearly the must-see event of the festival and will likely require reservations.

Tuesday: back to Northeast for 3 shows in a row at The Ritz

Wednesday: Not sure what to do with this one. There are two shows I really want to see, and they are both at 7pm.

Thursday: Probably back to Northeast/West Bank area. I really want to see this one, and I'm having a hard time fitting it into an itinerary.

Friday: back to the Uptown area, cause it's close to home, and I'll prolly be on my own that night.

Saturday (Aug11): same general plan as the first Saturday - big bike circle through downtown, over to the West Bank, and then back home to finish up with (maybe) one more in the Uptown area.

Sunday (Aug12): Whatever's left over that we really want to see.
