For those of you following the numbers in Minnesota,
the Star Tribune has an EXCELLENT reporting page, updated daily.
It's probably just a lull in reporting due to the fact that it's Sunday... but today all the numbers show a downward trend for first time in many weeks. New cases are down, new deaths are down, and the all-important "number currently hospitlized" has dropped back to the level it was at on May 5. Let's hope it's a trend, not a blip.
Biggest sources of new infections are still nursing homes and those pestilent meat processing plants (which SHOULD NOT BE OPEN).
In other local coronavirus news,
Minnesota has managed to ramp up its testing capacity to the point where they are now begging people to come in and get tested. Governor Walz wants to get us to 20,000 tests per day, but needs people to take advantage of the increased capacity to get to the goal. Apparently people (including doctors and clinics) got so used to the idea that testing is not widely available that they aren't even trying to get tested any more.
