Thanks to all who came. I never saw the sign-in sheet (which means I forgot to sign in. At my own house. Oh well) but there must have been 50 people there - biggest meeting in a long time. Technically, of course, the voting meeting is ALWAYS the biggest meeting in a long time because it's the only official meeting (read the Bylaws). Those other get-togethers are "meetings regularly established for social purposes not requiring action on corporate business." But this was the real thing, and corporate business took place; a new Board was duly elected (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] barondave for documenting the event).

It was a lovely day. Spring arrived unexpectedly while I was in the Costco loading up on party munchies. I went into the store appropriately dressed for the season and came out too hot. It was crowded enough that the party happily took advantage of the occasion, spilling out onto the back patio and front lawn.

Seems to me that the voting meeting (actually the "regular annual meeting") is simply one of several types of meetings, the others still being meetings. In particular the clause on who is a voting member doesn't make much sense if the other meetings aren't meetings:

"b) Voting member shall mean any person who attends seven (7) or more meetings during the period of twelve months preceding an election, has requested membership, and has given his name and address to the membership secretary."

Anyway, though, thanks for the party!

I was sorry to miss it, but participating in the Psychic Faire brought in a few extra dollars I could use. :)
