Is EVERYBODY sick???
Jan. 20th, 2005 01:57 pmTrying to catch up... well, at least read the last few days of friends entries. Good heavens, is every single person on my friends list sick? Is this in some way related to the great Flu Vaccine Shortage, or is this just what happens every winter? I'm curious to see if the lack of flu vaccine actually translates to more sick people nationwide. I'm skeptical myself. I have a hard time believing than anybody except high-risk populations needs flu shots. But I could be wrong.
I had a cold last week myself (poorly timed to coincide with my last week at work and my big job interview), but it's just a cold, no more no less. I don't get flu shots anyway, since I don't get influenza. But I don't usually get a cold this time of year at all; maybe there are more sick people than usual passing germs around. What do you folks think?

Date: 2005-01-20 09:03 pm (UTC)I've seen news stories several times about how Minnesotans have been a bit too polite about it all, so many didn't go in for shots. They were practically begging people (even non-high risk folks) to come in for shots.
So if you know anyone who normally gets them who hasn't, they should certainly see about getting one. I know both my parents got 'em; I considered it myself.
