Ski Boots Found

Yes, they were in a place that I had looked several times, although exactly where I thought they ought to be. If you subscribe to the theory that missing household objects sometimes take little trips to alternate quantum universes, that's no doubt where they were, probably communing with Laurel's popover pan. If you think that's just stupid... well, it's possible that I looked right at them 3 or 4 times and didn't see them because I was absolutely convinced that the boots I was looking for were light blue. In fact, they are not.
So today I finally got out on my new skis for the second time ever, at good old Hiawatha Golf Course. My lord, I had no idea how out of shape I was! I managed to last for 40 minutes, but only because I found a bench to rest on for about 15 minutes in the middle. Yikes! The weather and snow were pretty near perfect - just about as warm as it can get without starting to ice up the trails. My new color-changing plastic lenses surprised me by working better than any I've ever had since my first set of (glass) PhotoGray. With the blindingly white snow, they actually got so dark I was having a little trouble seeing the ski trails clearly. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how the new bindings worked, and longer than usual to get my ski legs. But I must say, I was wrong all those years looking down on people with waxless skis. Why didn't I get these sooner??
