Whoof. Another garage day.
Jul. 11th, 2010 11:32 amGot a lot done yesterday, including vacuuming out my car (which always takes longer than I expect. Maybe if I did it more often than once every two years it would be easier) and then several hours working on the garage. I'm now working on the garage attic, which has the most amazing quantity of junk in it. Probably a stupid day to spend in a garage attic - I nearly expired of heat exhaustion at one point and was only revived by staggering to the backyard swinging chair with a cold bottle of hard cider. I made a lot of headway, though, thanks to Richard's agreement to throwing away a large pile of old filmstrip projectors that he had salvaged thinking they were a different kind of projector. I'm not sure quite what to do with them, actually. Right now there in the alley to be looked over by Metal Man. Don't know if they're his thing or not. The casings are mostly plastic, but considering the weight there must be a lot of metal inside. If he doesn't take them I guess I'll just toss them in the regular trash dumpster. I finally unearthed the old van seat, which
thorintatge hauled to the trash. It has a lot of metal in it, so it might be of interest to Metal Man. If he doesn't take it I'll put a sign on it and use it for this week's "Solid Waste" allotment.
Yesterday's highlight by far was a long hot shower (in newly refurbished bathroom, which finally has someplace to hang my robe). There's no dirt quite like garage dirt. Yuck.
I was making so much progress yesterday that I'm tempted to go back to it today - but I can't face getting filthy again so soon. I think I'll find something cleaner to do, like visiting the Kingfield Farmers' Market.

Date: 2010-07-11 09:08 pm (UTC)- I ate them for lunch, and my body tolerated them. Yay!

Date: 2010-07-12 04:03 pm (UTC)I also got some spinach that I suspect is actually arugula. I'm not so happy with that purchase - it's way too bitter for my tastes. Oh well, you can't win 'em all. I made the purported spinach into a facsimile of that fabulous strawberry chicken salad that somebody keeps ordering for corporate lunches. With all that extra stuff it was sufficiently overwhelming that you really couldn't taste the greens anyway. Richard and Thorin loved it.
