Shuffle off to the Pool Party

On my 2nd day at QLogic the CEO announced wildly successful quarterly results and gave everybody in the company an IPod Shuffle! Whoo-hoo, sure beats the usual t-shirt. This, of course, means that I have to stop whatever else I was doing and figure out how this whole computerized music thing works. For those of us who grew up with vinyl albums, it's a big shock to the system. I wore my Shuffle to the Minicon Pool Party, allowing me to briefly be almost as cool as laurel. A few people were impressed. Others were baffled. Others wondered why those things only seem to come in white. I managed to lose one of the little foam earfoam berets. Fortunately the kit came with 2 extra.

In other news, as the proud possessor of a brand-new set of cross-country skis, I've been whining non-stop about the lack of snow, and implying that I would be in way better physical condition if the weather would only cooperate. The weather has finally called my bluff. So I guess I'll have to tear myself away from my computer (where I have been, naturally, reading CDs into my I-Tunes library) and go ski.

What the Sam Hill am I listening to here? It's amazing how different your record collection sounds when listened to in shuffle mode.

Hey, that sounds like a great work-out plan for dreamshark. Half of my driveway needs shoveling too!
