There is nothing more emblematic of the technology creep in our lives than Daylight Savings Morning (or evening, if you swing that way). So far today I have reset the bedside alarm clock, wall clocks in kitchen and living room, the stove and the coffee pot. What's left? There's some kind of digital displaying thing in Amber's old room, and whatever is in Thorin's room is up to him. The attic is a challenge all its own. There's a wall clock and and an unknown number of devices in the home entertainment cluster.

Then there's the computer-like artifacts. Thank goodness my desktop is smart enough to track Daylight Savings Time on its own, as is my phone. Not sure about the iTouch and the iPad. Aiyee.

What about you? How many clocks did you have to reset today?

"The coffee pot and microwave have clocks, but I don't usually bother setting them."

Just wait until you decided to set up the coffee pot the night before to wake you up gloriously in the morning - you'll be sorry you never learned how to set the clock!

All of them. Mind, I haven't made it to the third floor yet...

I still have my original Mpls alarm clock, bought at Dayton's (or Donaldson's) in 1978. I needed to reset that. I set the microwave. I set my watch. I would not normally need to reset my car's clock (since I don't usually change it in the fall) but my battery died and I reset the radio stations and the clock to the present. I have an electronic compass that, if the batteries haven't run out, I'll need to set. Hmm... the iPod Classic is at the old time, but will probably update the time when I recharge/add songs. Just reset my phone's clock (land line, wireless w/base) from 2001, so it's been wrong for a while. At the moment, that's all the non-wired clocks I can think of.

No wait... my camera. Thanks for reminding me!

I knew about five - microwave, car (not yet done), two wall clocks, and my watch. I forgot about the thermostat until this afternoon, and also the cordless phone, and just discovered that my Kindle hadn't reset - but it had no network connection up. Nope, that didn't help. Oh, yeah - the iPod. It would have been OK, except it had the wrong timezone. So, nine so far.

How many reset on their own? TiVo, three computers, three alarm clocks, and one wall clock, cell phone, PDA, for a total of ten. I guess I came out ahead.

Four so far -- bedside alarm, bedroom clock/weather radio, answering machine, upstairs kitchen microwave. Computer and phone can do it themselves, thank goodness. I will probably end up resetting the downstairs kitchen microwave because nobody else will; and the alarm clock in the guest room will need resetting at some point.

Two watches, kitchen stove. Computer and phone reset on their own.

It's gotten so much better over the years. I've reset two clocks. One, the car, I expect to reset. I also had to reset my watch, and I don't know why; it's supposed to handle that itself. Perhaps I have some other configuration screwed up.

I just had to do my bedside clock, as the computer clocks take care of themselves.

I heard there was some duplication of effort in your house and a few of the clocks got set two hours ahead before it was discovered...
