Turns out anesthesiologists are not big fans of facial hair. When we met ours yesterday the first thing he said was, "How attached are you to that beard?" So last night the beard came off. I had never seen my husband without a beard. It is kind of surreal to hear his voice coming from a stranger's face.

I have no doubt he'll get back to the full beard eventually, but hair is fun to play with as it grows back.

Date: 2011-06-26 03:47 am (UTC)My Dad has had a crew cut since he was a kid; my Mom used to say she didn't know what color his hair really was given it's kinda hard to tell when there's so little of it. She doesn't say that anymore because it's clearly gray now.
I was glad to hear Richard is doing well and that the surgery went as well as these things can go.
