Weather is fun

Morning bike ride wasn't half bad. Temp in high 70's, but overcast and breezy enough so it felt cooler. Muggy doesn't feel half bad when you're moving. Bought some eggs at the SA on the way home, had breakfast, and settled into my backyard swing chair to read the funnies. Each strip was harder to read than the last, for some reason. I had to take off my glasses and hold the paper closer and closer. Considered the possibility that my eyes were aging at a phenomenal rate, finally realized that it was growing darker and darker. Pretty soon it was too dark to read at all, and the sky to the west was a lovely luminous dark teal. Really, what's more exciting than swinging under a tree watching a storm roll in? Lovely. Wearing a sleeveless top, it felt good to feel the first big drops hit my overheated skin (I could have sworn they hissed and smoked). Finally started coming down in earnest, so I shifted to the front porch. It was so dark I had to turn on the pole lamp in the corner to finish the funnies.
I'm so glad I don't live in California.

Weather means that if you sit in one place, something different happens from day to day. Not just season to season, but day to day. The parts of California that I am familiar with have climate, but not a whole lot of weather.
