Not being an expert on toad crossing signs, I hadn't noticed the hinges. But you're right - it looks like a temporary sign. So I suppose it must have been Toad Season, but we didn't actually see any toads.

I love that it's one of those folding signs, so it can be used seasonally. Presumably not in the same season as the icy bridge signs....
